Has He changed??… His “FRUIT” reveals the truth! (Gal.5:22-23)

Recently, someone that I care about has been a victim of domestic violence….again! The same statement has been repeated again and again, “He has changed! It won’t happen again.” Unfortunately, many times, it does. The violence repeats itself as victims want to believe these words. I had said this and fallen into this trap myself… until the truth was revealed to me. So, how do you know if someone has really changed? Well, only God really knows the truth because He knows what is in each person’s heart and He is the only One who can actually change someone. However, The Word gives us a clue that we can use to identify a person’s character…What kind of fruit does that person produce. Galatians 5:22-23 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such there is no law.” So, no matter what a person says that they are, the true evidence is what is actually displayed by their actions, words, responses, etc. The things that are produced by the person. If anger, resentment, frustration, irritability or any of these negative behaviors are produced, chances are that he has not changed. God gave us these words to teach us and guide us that we will not be deceived by the tricks of the enemy.

Prayer: Lord, I pray for wisdom and discernment for Your children; they will will recognize the fruit that is produced by each person and realize that Your Word is our guide to get through this life. I pray for Your Holy Spirit to sweep across this land, bringing healing, deliverance, and restoration to the multitudes in Jesus’ name… Amen.

  1. Yes! Even the Lord Jesus taught us also to look at the fruits of individuals whether they are wolves in sheep’s clothing or a born again child of God in: Matthew 7:13-23. This coincides with the Book of 1 John also. And an additional note, a true born again child of the Lord Jesus Christ would not abuse their spouse in any way mentally, physically, emotionally spiritually verbally or the likes. In fact a Holy Spirit filled child of God is the opposite Galatians 5:19-21 This mentions abuse as being ungodly in which any one practicing these will not enter the kingdom of heaven such as, but not limited to: out bursts of wrath, dissensions, contentions, jealousies etc. Great post.

“Lord, anoint this ministry of yours with Holy power of teaching, conviction drawing all to repentance in the Lord Jesus Might name…Amen!-

    • Thank you so much. This has been a new world as I walk this path in obedience with Christ of writing a book and now this blog. I try to reach out to those who are still so broken as I was… then there are those days that I am shouting in excitement and dancing with joy which is evidenced by my blog. Check out the postings on FEAR, especially FEAR NO MORE!!. You are so right.. a true Holy Spirit filled child of God will never abuse. I just pray that God will sweep His Hand across this land and touch millions of hearts. Thanks so much for following. I really appreciate the prayers and encouragement!!
