“Maybe I deserved it!”….The answer is NO!!

deserve better
“Maybe I deserved it”… is one of the first thoughts that comes to victims’ minds….
NO!!      The answer is  NO!!

No one… no man, woman, or child…deserves to be abused.

No one deserves to be hit!

No one deserves to be punched!

No one deserves to be beat!

No one deserves to be bruised!

No one deserves to be bitten!

No one deserves to be cut!

No one deserves to be tied up!

No one deserves to be threatened!

No one deserves to be raped!

No one deserves to be held in any bondage!

No one deserves to be physically assaulted!

No one deserves to be verbally assaulted!

No one deserves to be emotionally assaulted!

No one deserves to be sexually assaulted!

NO ONE DESERVES TO BE ABUSED IN ANY WAY!!

Now, those who have never lived in abusive situations may ask another question..

“How can this be?”

Well, now I will shed some light on this question…

If you grew up in a Spanish speaking home, didn’t you think Spanish was the only language…

If you grew up eating just cornbread for a meal, didn’t you think that everyone ate cornbread for a meal…

If you grew up on a farm, were you not familiar with “farm-life”…

If you grew up traveling the world, wouldn’t you think that most people traveled the world…

If you grew up being treated like royalty, wouldn’t you think that it is the way you should be treated…

So, what do you think happens when people are criticized constantly…

What do you think happens when they live surrounded by negativity…

What do you think happens when they are told that they are nothing….

What do you think happens when they  are constantly being blamed for things that are not their fault…

ANSWERS:

Well, then they don’t expect any better than what they have lived with.

They don’t expect any positive because they have been surrounded by negative.

This causes them to fall victim to the many abuses of the world… because they don’t expect better.

Now,  this is why they can even get the thought, “Maybe I deserved it!”

______________________________________________________________

I pray for every victim of these abuses…

I pray that eyes will be opened…

I pray that parents will raise their children positively, expecting the best in life…

I pray  that victims will realize that they deserve better.

I pray for doors to be opened that every victim will find a way out of their abusive situations.

I pray that wounded hearts will be healed around the world…

  1. You are so right!!!!! No One deserves to be abused. Remember the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

  2. That is true. I used to think If only I was smarter, did the right thing, sat the right way or whatever then I wouldn’t be abused. I think, as a child, it was easier to think I did something wrong than to face the horrible fact that I was not loved or they didn’t care what abuse they inflicted.

    • I understand… The wounds of our pasts greatly affect the choices that we make in life… whether from parents, families, siblings, bullies, etc and set us up for accepting abuse in our futures… this has happened to so many of us!

  3. You are so right; no one does deserve to be victims of any kind of abuse. However, sometimes I do catch those fleeting thoughts, “Maybe I deserved it”. I just said on another blog that, up until I was 13 ish, I thought every parent beat and bullied their children and even had suspicions that other kids had their own ‘sexual secrets’.

    • As victims, we have all had those thoughts. I think of them as our would have, could have, should have thoughts….but as survivors, we can release those negative thoughts and reach for the healing and blessed futures that we have in store for us as over-comers. We all deserve better..It’s never easy, but each step that we take away from our abusive past gets easier…
