DP: Poem for victims… “Dreams Dancing in Her Head” (Psalm 147:3)

Daily Prompt: Dreams

Dreams dancing in her head
Loving life with plans ahead
Holding on to things so dear
Never expecting to live in fear
Dreams dancing in her head
Of a wonderful life when she would wed
Looking forward to that marriage tie
Never expecting it was all a lie
Dreams dancing in her head
turned violent in her marriage bed
Oh, how blind could she be
to not realize the real “he”
Dreams dancing in her head
Never expected he wanted her dead
Threats echoing again and again
Wondering how nightmares could begin
Dreams dancing in her head
Those nightmares she would dread
Fearing her stalker in the night
made nighttime a time of fright
Dreams dancing in her head
returned to happiness, not dread
When she was rescued in the night
by Christ, her Guiding Light
Dreams dancing in her head
with joy and hope planned ahead
For she was saved from Satan’s wrath
and now Christ  guides her path.

Many of us have been hurt by lies and deceit from people who we loved
and would have never expected to be hurt by them. Though the dreams and plans
that we had for our futures may not have progressed the way that we hoped for…
know that God does rescue and heal and He will bring back joy and happiness to you.
Psalms 147:3  says “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

  1. Secret Angel,
This poem touched my deepest need today inspiring me to continue to dream for the kind of marriage God desires for each of us to have. Today, I’ll continue to hope and believe God-sized dreams will be a reality.

    Thank you!

    • Amen… Many of us have been alone for years following the heartaches of various abuses, broken marriages, and brokenness of shattered dreams. But when we wait on the Lord to heal us and restore us and trusting Him to bring us the desires of our hearts, our dreams will come to pass…and I too believe in God-sized dreams and stand in agreement for the fulfillment of them in Jesus’ name. Amen. Thanks for your support!… Many blessings to you my sister

  2. You are a healer of hurt souls. Some where in the bible it speaks of blessed be those shepards of the lost… Continue!

    • Thank you so much for your continued encouragement. I just follow as the Holy Spirit leads me and write the words that He gives me. He knows who needs it each day. I really appreciate your support. Many, many blessing to you.

    • Oh.. just getting to this comment as I work down the list, Your words touched my heart to the depths of my soul as I read your comments this morning. I can still feel the anointing on your comments as I even write this message. I have posted the blog entry that I mentioned earlier that God put in my heart to write in the “wee hours” of this morning. I know that God used you to give me a message because what you spoke of me was not my thoughts.. I was just a messenger that angels are out there… Many many blessings to you. You have blessed me today more than you can imagine…
