My heart has been singing songs the last two days with praises to the Lord. Many people think that praising God is only in Christian music or worship songs. Many people also think that worshiping God is only done in the sanctity of a church while a choir sings. Then, other people think that there is no way that some songs can be used to praise God. Well, I can tell you that too many of us have put God in a box. He can not be held to a certain standard. He can not be held to a certain expectation. He uses any and everything. He knows what is in our hearts. We are here to honor God will all that we do. Whatever we do whether at our jobs, our everyday chores, or anything in our routine life, we do unto the Lord. He knows what is in each heart. He hears your prayers before they leave your lips. He hears the cries of His children even without a word spoken. Sing praises to the Lord in any way or fashion that you want… He will honor it.
One of the songs that plays in my mind and heart is “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”. Mountains can represent the obstacles and hardships in our lives. You see, I have learned through the abuse in my life and the traumas and dramas that have occurred that I need to hold onto Him. There is no mountain that I can not climb or obstacle to overcome as I hold onto God… because He can move the mountains out of your way, He can carry you over the mountain, or He can make a path right through the mountain… NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD.
These video’s from the movie Sister Act 2 describe what I am talking about:
Matthew 17:20 (NIV)
“… Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Prayer: Lord, we praise Your Holy Name and thank You that you allow us to worship you in any way that we are lead to whether rap, rock and roll, or gospel music, etc. I ask You to touch the hearts of youth and all ages to turn to you realizing that You are so much bigger than most even realize…that nothing is impossible with you, in Jesus’ name… Amen.
