Children Learn by Example

This is a message to all parents…

Children learn by example so we all need to consider what example we set for them. Ephesians 6:1-4 gives us clear instructions for children and parents.  Yes, children are to honor their mother and father, but they should not be provoked to anger such as in abuse. We are to raise our children, leading by example with the instruction of the Lord…

Children and Parents–Ephesians 6: 1-4 (NKJV)

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”

And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.”

  1. It’s dangerous to provoke children to anger because they cannot process as an adult can. Children will often act out in terrible ways, harmful ways and where they hurt others in response they ultimately hurt themselves more. Abusing, angering a child can literally ruin their lives. Adults be careful and responsible.
