Crying and Healing… like peeling an onion!

HEALING AND THE ONION

Crying…Crying…
Tears of pain!
Crying…Crying…
Is it in vain?
Healing…Healing…
Is in the tears.
Healing…Healing…
of wounds over years.

These words came to me this morning as I prayed and cried…tears of pain, tears of fear, tears of brokenness… tears from all the wounds of the past . As I wrote this, I thought about an onion.

Many of us cry as we cut an onion. We can peel an onion back layer by layer and cry more and more as we get to the core. Well, that is how wounds of abuse are. Wounds go deep, layer by layer,  to our spirit and soul. As we get to each layer, more healing and restoration has to be done. So though we may be healed at one layer, when we get to the next layer with another obstacle or another trigger, more healing and restoration has to occur. So you see, we are not crazy, we are not “babies”. In our periods of brokenness,  these tears of healing cover the wounds of our past, layer by layer until we get to the core of our healing… just like pealing an onion.

  1. More words of wisdom from my Secret Angel. Much love and prayers to you sounds like you were doing some healing today. Remember you aren’t weak because as you cried the strongest of all creation himself was sitting right beside his daughter and he was cying as well. The father watered your sould. 🙂 Remember you aren’t alone, I and many pray for you and god is always there too.

    PEEL YOUR ONION!! 🙂

    • Thanks Michelle for your support. We all have wounds of our past that have to heal. God is the Key to healing… sometimes we just wish He would move faster. He has brought me a long way but I am still “a work on progress.” I see how far He has brought you in a short period of time… We all need to just keep our eyes on Him. Thanks for the prayers!!!

  2. It is important to realize that the devil is behind every word, act and intention of abuse. He seeks to destroy. Unfortunately a lot of people are open to his evil. To allow it into your heart, instead of God’s love, is to give him what he wants, which is our brokenness.
It is necessary to give God every abusive word, action and evil intention against us so that He can deal with the abuser.

    • Amen. You are so right..and remember… “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.” Isaiah 54:17

    • Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. I have seen your blog and appreciate the information that you provide to readers. PTSD is not something that I would wish on anyone and so many people do not understand… Thanks again and keep up the good work!!
