Beware of the Spoken Word

Do you suffer in silence…
or broadcast your problems to the world.
Do you put on a brave front…
or portray the “poor pitiful” boy or girl.
Do you lash out in anger…
or hold all your hurt within.
Or do you put all struggles on Facebook…
waiting for the comments to pour in.
For we all react to stress…
in a very different way.
But do we think first…
being careful what we do or say.
For some like the attention…
that talking about our struggles can bring.
Then others like the solitude…
that the sounds of silence brings.
But one bit of advice…
that I want to give to you.
It’s beware of the Spoken Word…
and what these words will do.
For as we speak negative…
then negative we will bring.
But as we speak only positive…
then joyful praises we will sing.
For there is Power in these words…
so be careful what you speak.
Because whatever words are spoken…
you will most probably reap.

Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.

  1. Such a great reminder of the power of words! The tongue is the hardest part of the body to yield over to God’s will. Thank you for this post!

    • Amen! Too many people speak curses over their own lives as they continue to speak negative things over their lives. I pray that more will come to realize the Power in the spoken word and change their ways.
Many blessings to you, my friend,.

  2. Words are spirit. They are so powerful, such that they travel beyond our now and reaches out to our distant future even before we arrive there.

  3. I cannot agree more! Occasionally I’ll post a grumpy blog but with the intent that someone may read it and see they’re not alone, definitely not fr comments or pity. I actually can’t stand pity! God bless you soul sister! Lot’s of love!!

    • You are a blessing, my sister! You help many with your words as you reach out to them and give them hope. Unfortunately, so many do not realize the power of the spoken word and continue to tear themselves down by what they say, like on Facebook. It is a dangerous “pit” for many who fall into that trap. The Power of the spoken Word is so true!!

      • Thank you sister! You are right, I almost think fb is nothing but a den of vipers that prey on the innocent and the weak! Thus I do not have fb! God bless you sister!
