Daily Prompt: Trick Questions—Who Are You?

A Pulitzer-winning reporter is writing an in-depth piece – about you.
What are the three questions you really hope she doesn’t ask you?

As I thought of this question…
there’s only one thing to say.
Please don’t ask my real name!
This is why I am secretive this way.
I have chosen “Secret Angel”…
to be my name that I use.
As I reach out to those hurting…
and all wounded from abuse.
But this name came to me…
one day as I silently prayed.
Lord, use me to help others…
like angels secretly do each day.
Then a few days later…
my kids gave me a gift to open.
And my eyes filled with tears…
as this name was clearly spoken.
Secret Angel was on the bottle…
that my kids gave to me.
God had given me a sign…
as I had prayed to Thee.
Then as much time passed…
and I continued to pray…
The Walking Wounded was written…
and I started the blog this way.
For I represent the nameless…
and many faceless of abuse.
So my real name is not important…
as I submit to God to use.

  1. “The God of Angel Armies is always by my side”

I love that song and you, mystery lady, are one of His Angels and He blesses all of us through your work every single day. Thank you for your Poems. They are really really good.

    • Awe… Your comment brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for your encouraging words. I just praise God everyday for what He has done for me. He is raising an army to fight abuse around the world and we are part of it!! God bless you, my friend!! 🙂

  3. “Secret Angel” is the perfect name for this ministry! So much wisdom is shared through your poems and that comes from the Lord. You are truly gifted and thank you for trusting the Lord and being obedient to His call. He touches many through you. May God continue to bless you.

    • Sue, you just melted my heart with your words. I am so humbled and honored that you said this. You are an inspiration to me. You have published 5 books and started a ministry! I just realized that you are the founder of Elah Ministries. I had read about Elah Ministries previously because of the healing and deliverance ministry that I know that God is calling me to. I would love to talk to you one day as I walk this path that God has placed me on. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. You are a blessing to me! May God pour out His blessings upon you, my sister!!

  4. You ARE Secret Angel! Names are important, and this, my friend, IS your name to everyone whose life you touch with your words of hope, encouragement, and inspiration. It does not matter your earthly name, but I would like to give you a hug….to thank you with more than words…((((((💛💛💛💛)))))))) “Spirit Hug”……

    • Awe… Thank you so much my sister!! You have melted my heart with your words and your “hugs” today. We serve an awesome God. We never know where He will lead us as we follow Him… but we can always trust Him with every aspect of our lives. 6. I would say the very same thing! My name and location have absolutely no baring on who I am as a blogger or Christian! You sound like you have wonderful children! So sweet! You continue to blow me away with your writing ability! You could write about green peas and make it amazing! Lol God bless you soul sister!

    • Awe… Thank you so much. I thank God for what He has done for me and my children. Whenever you read my book, you will read more about my children and also see what my real occupation is… far from writing. However, we can do all things through Christ! I know that He gives me the words to say everyday. I guess you could say that maybe I was a poet, and didn’t know it. However, I prefer to say that I am His vessel… Remember our scripture… “My Tongue is the pen of a ready writer”… Bless you, my sweet soul sister!!
