Has Religion Hurt You?

So many have been hurt by various religions with their rules and regulations or standards which have been set. But just remember, religion is man-made. God created man… not religion.  He sent His Son to save us and wants to have a relationship with each of us. He is the Key to overcoming!! I pray that all will find The Key!

There are so many religions…
out in the world today.
They all have different doctrines…
and lead people a certain way.
Some require distinct clothing…
or certain ways to wear their hair.
Some require no makeup…
and other things I will not share.
But is this all God’s will…
as many search to find the Way.
With rules and regulations…
and structured ways to pray.
So what is God’s will…
that we should seek to achieve?
For many have differences…
so what are we to believe?
Well I can tell you now…
The “relationship” I have come to know.
For it was not in religion…
that my relationship did grow.
It was in my brokenness…
as I cried out to God above.
And I truly met my Savior…
and felt His unconditional Love.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17

  1. Religion is a control factor, inclined toward cult mentality to keep others in subjugation to man-made rules!! The Bible tells us to “look unto Jesus…” not unto religion.
Thank you again for this informative post.

  2. Boy did you nail it! 🙂 As I recall it was all the man made rules and regulations of the Pharase’s “Religion” that got them called hypocrites! Blessings to you and thanks for words of truth.

    • Thanks Sue. I really appreciate your support. Yes, religion hurts many with its rules and regulations. But there is FREEDOM in CHRIST. Many blessings to you, my sister!
