Religion vs Relationship: Which Do You Seek?

There are so many who are hurting around the world today. They seek answers and a source of strength to get through the depression and oppression that surrounds them. They struggle through each day and try to find their way. But God has given us the Answer… for Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life…”

Religion versus Relationship…
now which do you seek?
For religion is man-made…
but it’s a relationship that I speak.
For God sent His Son…
to show us the way.
And it’s all about Him…
every moment of the day.
For He will give us peace…
that surpasses all understanding.
And He will help us overcome…
with strength that’s withstanding.
For in our brokenness…
having nothing left to hold…
is when we turn to God…
and allow Him to remold.
And He’ll make us stronger…
than we ever were before…
as we hold onto Him…
realizing He’s so much more.
For man-made religion…
just doesn’t compare…
when it’s a relationship with Christ…
that you will forever share.

Jesus said to him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

Dear God, only You see the countless numbers who struggle every day with the abuses of man and tribulations of life. You never promised us that it would be easy but You did send us Your Son to show us the Way and lead us into our futures. I pray for all the abused and all who are wounded by the actions of man. I pray that You rescue them from their situations and reveal Yourself to them so they will come to know the Key to overcoming. Open the eyes and ears of man so that they will truly know the Truth and walk in fellowship with Him… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

    • Thank you so much for your encouraging words. However, my sister, I see the same in your writings. God is healing both of us and as we drawer nearer to Him, the Love of Jesus can’t help but overflow through all that we do as we walk that path from brokenness to wholeness with Him… God bless you, my sister!

  1. Very True secretangel and well written, man’s rules and regulations leave us wanting, God’s guidelines give us completeness because they are all about Love, His Love for us and our Love for Him which overflows and so we Love others as He does.

Jesus leads us into all Truth and as we choose to seek His perfection in Love as confirmed in the Scriptures below, we have His Peace, Love and Joy and His assurance through The Spirit that we are One in the Family of God which is the Body of Christ His Church, not just a Denomination but world wide and in the hearts of all of God’s redeemed Children known by Him from Eternity.

1John 4:17-19 Herein is our Love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in Love; but perfect Love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in Love. We Love Him, because He first Loved us.

Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man/woman of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in Peace; and the God of Love and Peace shall be with you.

    • Amen!! So true. We are one in the family of God… heirs to His Kingdom! I pray that many more will come to know His Love, Peace and Comfort that surpasses all understanding and be drawn into a deeper relationship with Him. Thanks my sister and God bless you and Ron!

  2. Amen! Too often in a “get to know you” kind of discussion, I receive the answer of a denomination instead of “I am a child of God”. Glory was on the church Jesus began and not on the denominations or offshoots from it.

    • Amen.. You are so right! and many more will be fooled in the upcoming days. I pray that hearts will turn to Him, not man or his religions. God bless you, Pastors George and Sharon.
