Parental Example…What are You Teaching?

Many children are abused and neglected every year… while their parents think that it is acceptable behavior because that is how they were treated. Just because we are treated a certain way as a child does not make it the right way. Think about how you were treated as a child and do you want better for your own children.  The first step to change is to see that change is needed… then walk in that direction.

Our children learn by example…
in all we do and say.
So how do you want them to act…
the way you are?  Or a better way?
So think about your actions…
and how you would want to be treated.
Is it good or bad examples?
Are there improvements that are needed?
Will they continue to act…
with behaviors of abuse and neglect?
Or will they continue to show…
the Love of God some try to reflect?
We all have a choice to make…
on how we behave or act.
And children mimic their parents…
as this is a well-known fact.
So set the example…
on how you would want to be treated…
so our children can inherit…
the feeling of Love that’s so needed.
For no one wants to be yelled at…
or being hit or abused in any form!
So is this what you are teaching?
Do your kids think this is the norm?
So set the example…
of how you would “LOVE” to be treated…
because the world needs change…
and parental example is where it’s seeded.

The Golden Rule, Matthew 7:12 (The Message)

“Here is a simple, rule-of-thumb guide for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them.”
