Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month is now. It is more and more important for all of us to be aware of what is happening to our children. Every 1 in 3 teens are experiencing abuse of some kind, whether verbal, emotional, physical, cyber, or sexual. Only 33% of these teens ever report the abuse and violence to someone.
Many teens become trapped in this cycle of abuse feeling that they have no way out. They accept it as normal behavior and get confused in it’s cycle with abuse one day and declaration of “love” the next. Excuses are made and believed by these victims. We have to get the message to all teens that VIOLENCE IS NOT LOVE! ABUSE IS NOT LOVE! Many lives and many futures depend on it.
