Wishing vs Praying

“Why wish upon a star…

when you can pray to the One who made them.”

 “Wishing versus praying”…
were the thoughts that came to me.
For many don’t realize…
how simple it can be.
No elaborate prayers…
memorized or rehearsed…
are needed everyday…
with scripture and verse.
Just talking to God…
like a Friend every day…
brings a closer relationship…
as we humbly come to pray.
Just including Him in our lives…
is what He desires.
But many think different…
with formal prayers required.
So we don’t need to wish…
we can just call out His Name…
for we are His children…
and He loves us all the same.
Just talk to Him…
as you go about your day.
For He loves this more…
than recited prayers we pray.
He already knows your wishes…
and all the desires of your heart.
But drawing closer to Him…
is where our relationships need to start.

  1. wow – here is a lyrics …

Wishin’ and hopin’ and thinkin’ and prayin’
Plannin’ and dreamin’ each night of his charms
That won’t get you into his arms

So if you’re lookin’ to find love you can share
    All you gotta do is
Hold him and kiss him and love him
And show him that you care

Show him that you care just for him
Do the things he likes to do
Wear your hair just for him, ’cause
    You won’t get him
    Thinkin’ and a-prayin’
    Wishin’ and hopin’

Just wishin’ and hopin’ and thinkin’ and prayin’
Plannin’ and dreamin’ his kiss is the start
That won’t get you into his heart
