“King of the Mountain”

This is for the many who have been broken by the abuses of man. Many abusive people have carried this childhood game into their adult lives as they continue to overpower those who are weaker and more humble by their abusive words and deeds. It is pride that causes them to fight for the top of the mountain and always be victorious in their own eyes. But remember what “pride” causes. Now, God knows what lies in each man’s heart and He will Judge each of us. He is truly the King and His Kingdom reigns from the top of His Mountain. Let us all humble ourselves before Him.

“King of the Mountain”…
is a game children used to play.
But there are many abusers…
who feel they are this “king” today.
For they stand over victims…
feeling victorious and bold.
But many stories of abuse…
will truly one day be told.
For God loves the broken…
and those hurting and humble.
And He sees these abusive “kings”…
who cause their victims to stumble.
And His Word is Truth…
that the first will be last.
And that includes those “kings”…
who abuse and harass.
For there is only One…
True King of The Mountain.
And no abuse flows from Him…
but Grace and Mercy from His Fountain.
For God rules!!
from His Mountain top.
And His plan for salvation…
will not be stopped.

“But many who are first will be last,
and many who are last will be first.” Matthew 19:30

“My sacrifice is a humble spirit, O God;
you will not reject a humble and repentant heart.” Psalm 51:17

Dear Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness as we have all wanted to be “king of the mountain” at times and  pridefully struggled to overpower others at some time during our lives. Forgive us for pride, lust, deception and all sins that we may have committed against you. We ask You to change the hearts of those who abuse so that victims will no longer be victimized. Help us all to overcome the wounds of our past and to climb the path to our new futures with You. We humble ourselves before You today and declare that You are our King… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
