Wounded… But “Flawless” (Mercy Me) in God’s Eyes

Driving down the road today…
and reflecting on recent events…
I heard this song play…
while praying to God with repents.
Repenting for negative words…
or even thoughts in my mind.
Repenting for any pride…
and it’s negative results we find.
Repenting for any idols…
that I put before Thee.
And any self-pity or depression…
that’s allowed to oppress me.
For all these negative things…
will delay God’s ultimate plan…
for there’s power in words and thoughts…
and this we need to understand.
And as these lyrics played…
I knew it was a message to us all.
For God has plans for each…
as we humbly answer His call.
We’ve been broken and wounded…
but we are flawless in His Eyes.
For Christ’s Blood that was shed…
covers us and purifies.

FLAWLESS by Mercy Me (portion of song)

“No matter the bumps
No matter the bruises
No matter the scars
Still the truth is
The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless
No matter the hurt
Or how deep the wound is
No matter the pain
Still the truth is
The cross has made
The cross has made you flawless”

Dear Lord, Thank You for Your plan of salvation that is available to all with The Cross. Thank You that though we are human and have been broken and wounded, You see us through Your Eyes of Love, Grace, and Mercy. You see us as “Flawless” while we look through human eyes. Help us to see through Your Eyes and realize that we are Your children and heirs to Your Throne. We repent for any negative thoughts, words, or deeds that fall short of Your ultimate plan for us and ask You to help us to see clearly as You see us… Flawless… in Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.

  1. That we are flawless is precisely what we need to hear as abuse victims. So often we see ourselves as “damaged goods”. We believe what we’ve been told — the lie that we are worthless. Yet God can manage to turn that around. In fact, He never even considers that. We are simply His beloved children.

    • Amen!! You are so right! God loves the humble and broken… who are more humble and broken that abuse victims. He loves us all so much but so many have trouble accepting Love… even His. God bless you, my sweet sister!!!
