The Meaning of Life

The meaning of life…
is missed by so many.
As they assume the goal…
is to gather plenty.
Mansions and planes…
are evidence some have more.
But things in this world…
are not the Key to heaven’s door.
For many are the opposite…
and barely can get by…
praying for food to eat…
while their hungry children cry.
And while some sleep in mansions…
others lay on dirt floors.
And some sell their bodies…
because they are so poor.
And so many have millions…
while others have little to none.
And this imbalance in the world…
is where many crimes have begun.
For injustice after injustice…
this world will continually see.
Till we do something…
to help those suffering in poverty.
To give hope to the hopeless…
who can’t yet see God’s Light.
For it is for the broken…
that God raises us up to fight.
So the meaning of life…
is not what we can accumulate…
but to do what God wants us to do…
with His Love we reciprocate.

Dear Lord, only You see the multitude of the hurting and the total degree of wounds and brokenness of this world. You see the wounds hidden deep within the hearts and souls of all man and even know their origin. You know the injustices that have been inflicted upon each and the multitude that cry out to You for help. You see the selfishness of some and the brokenness of others. I pray for healing across the lands. That all hearts will turn to You and give compassion to their fellow man, woman, and child who is hurting to help ease the pain and burdens that they carry. That those in poverty or homelessness will be homeless no more and never be hungry again. That the necessary needs of others like food and shelter will always take precedence over the wants and desires of others who have the resources to share with the needy. Open hearts around the world to receive You and share Your Love and kindness with all others… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

      • Well that seems to be a question of stewardship. All things we have belong to God…we just use them.

But how we use them is guided by our hearts in accordance with God’s instructions.

We must be generous with our possessions and money, but prudent also.

I guess it’s the misuse of earthly things that we must be aware of and not be guilty of that…

      • Absolutely right Angel! That’s why if we don’t work for Him each day, we let not only ourselves down, but the Lord as well.

The work of the Lord is an everyday proposition, it should be ingrained in us as His “feet” and “arms,” etc. We are His heart!!
