Damaged Goods… is What Many Think

This is for the many who feel that they are “damaged” or no longer useful because of their past and the many abuses they have encountered. It is that “past” that God will use to help others who have gone through similar tribulations. He is calling all of us to turn to Him and trust Him with our futures.

“Damaged goods”…
is what many think.
Feeling worthless…
as self-esteems shrink.
For the enemy comes…
and kills, steals, and destroys…
as he plants negative thoughts…
for with our minds he toys.
But that is not Truth…
for God’s mercy and grace…
give us chance after chance…
to just seek His Face.
And God uses our past…
and all we have been through…
as a testimony of His grace…
as He makes a new you.
But Satan senses…
God’s calling on your life…
and he brings this turmoil…
and piles upon this strife.
For whenever one seeks God…
and turns away from evil…
is when negative thoughts…
get pounded in by the devil.
But we’re not “damaged goods”…
and we are actually so much more.
We are children of God…
and He will heal and restore.
So cast away the negative…
and be “damaged” no more.
Realize the calling on your life…
and allow God to open that door.
He will use all we’ve been through…
to touch the hearts of others.
For we are all His Children…
and that makes us “sisters and brothers.”

  1. So many people of all ages are made to feel this way by cowardly bullies! Those who berate others in any way are usually insecure themselves, perhaps made to feel that way because of being bullied themselves.

Almost all of us have been mistreated in some way at some point. The “winners” are the ones who rise above it and look to things such as the goodness of God to guide their lives!
