Sweetly Broken (Psalm 51:17)

“The sacrifice You desire is a broken spirit.
You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.” Psalm 51:17

So many hearts gets broken and crushed with the various abuses including adultery, abandonment, and it’s lies and deceptions. But many of these hearts get hardened with bitterness, resentment,  and anger. And then others get pulverized in the destructive forces of these abuses. But it is in that moment of total brokenness that we cry out for God to help us. It is when we are crushed, with nothing left of us, that we finally surrender to God to become pliable in His Hands as we submit to His will for our lives… for we realize that we have nothing in this world to hold onto but the Hope that we have in Christ.

Dear Lord, only You see the multitude of broken hearts and spirits around the world. And You see down to the depths of these hearts to know what lies within each. You see those who have become hardened with anger, resentment, bitterness, and unforgiveness. You also see those who have been broken in millions of pieces, pulverized by the forces against them, and who cry out to You in a “sweet brokenness”, ready to give their hearts and souls to You. We pray for You to deliver all victims from the abuses that they suffer. We ask You to bring healing and restoration to all the broken. Help us all to forgive those who have hurt us. Transform lives as the Potter recreates His vessels to be stronger and overcome all of our pasts. Make us pure vessels for You to use as You redeem our lives to become what You have called us to be in Your Kingdom… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Sweetly broken…
