Drug Abuse: Abuse and It’s Wounds Lead Many Down Wrong Paths

As we begin another week of October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I want to talk about the wounds that cause so many of us to make wrong decisions in our lives. Many innocent victims seek love and find themselves in relationships with someone who abuses drugs… then get forced into taking the drugs also to “please” their significant other. And many youth today are making wrong choices to fit in or be included in groups because of rejection and abuse with bullying and peer pressure… including taking drugs. Unfortunately, many of these that agree to “try it one time” may be the last time because of the catastrophic effects of “MoJo”  or their “one time” may lead to a life-long addiction because of the addictive effects of some drugs like meth. Doing some of these drugs is like playing “Russian Roulette” with lives… with catastrophic effects and more wounds to its victims.

Abuse and it’s wounds…
lead many down wrong paths.
Seeking love and friendship…
but finding pain and wrath.
For many try drugs…
just to try to “fit in”…
but once they start…
where will the damage end.
For “Meth” or “MoJo”…
isn’t a one time thing.
And many good kids try it…
not aware of the damage it brings.
They give in to peer pressure…
or just to have a quick “high”…
but they don’t know the danger…
and this is the reason why.
MoJo is “synthetic marijuana”…
and it’s made many different ways…
including  some with anti-freeze…
where it’s damage to many stays.
And MoJo usage is escalating…,
for many like it’s high…
but the brain damage is permanent…
so why would anyone even try.
And Methamphetamine is addictive…
so it won’t be “just one time”…
So please don’t use it…
as it leads many to lives of crime.
Now these are just some of the drugs…
that hospitals are currently seeing used…
as more and more victims present…
combative or unconscious with drug abuse.
And the brain damage can be permanent…
while many victims have even died…
so please don’t use these drugs…
for many have regretted the day they tried.
Now we all want to fit in…
or somehow feel loved and accepted.
But turning to any drug usage…
may bring damage that none ever expected.
For it’s like playing Russian Roulette…
with a loaded gun to your head…
and as you pull the trigger…
there is a chance you will be dead.
And no matter what we seek…
whether love, friends, or just happiness…
it will not be found in drugs…
but just one big painful mess.
So let’s pray for these victims…
that they’ll leave all drug use behind…
with healing and deliverance…
and God’s Love they will find.

Dear Lord, only You see the multitude of those who have been wounded by things in their past and seek love, friendship, and happiness in all the wrong places. You see their wounds to the depths of their spirits and souls that lead them to make wrong choices in their lives. You also see the growing number of victims who are permanently damaging their lives and even dying from the use of these dangerous substances that they are using. Deliver them from this evil. Help them to see that they will not find happiness in a drug. Turn their hearts to You and bring them the Peace and Joy that surpasses all understanding that can only come from You… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

  1. This is good Angel and I agree with you completely! This needs to be said…it needs to be preached from the rooftops! Drugs, whether made legal or by prescription, can have devastating effects. All prescription drugs must be taken carefully, and recreational use of previously illegal drugs, even in small quantities is a dangerous road to go down! Steve

    • Thanks Steve. I really appreciate your support. More and more of our teens and young adults are using these drugs with devastating effects. The danger is extreme and too many don’t realize this… including parents.

      • And some guardians or parents don’t know how to keep their teens away from these drugs! It’s a growing problem…

You know you are always welcome for the support. I appreciate your replies/comments as well.

        Have a great weekend!
        Steve
