Victims~~ Trust Your Instinct!

As we start another week of October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I want to share a few postings this week with the information that was presented at a domestic violence conference recently. The legal advocates who spoke recognize the difficulty that victims of domestic violence face with their abuses and the legal system, but they had excellent advice for all victims to follow.

Victims… trust your instinct!
is the message for today.
For it’s a God-given ability…
to sense danger in your way.
And many victims have died…
by not trusting that fear…
and ignoring that feeling…
that imminent danger is near.
For God gave us a spirit…
to communicate with Him…
so learn to trust your “instinct”…
for communication with God to begin.
He does not want us abused…
or injured in any way.
So trust your instinct…
and turn and walk away!!

Dear Lord, only You see the multitude of victims of abuse who had that “instinct” within their spirit that something was wrong but they ignored it… some with devastating consequences. Help us to hear Your Voice and recognize that feeling that You give us in our gut that danger lurks… and then the courage to walk away. Protect us from the evil and set us free from the bondage that holds us captive to our abusers. Surround us with Your Army of Angels to protect and guide us through the turmoil in our lives and help us to begin to walk in faith as You lead… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

  1. Anything to protect women from freaks who take pleasure in hurting them, I am all for. As a social worker for 20 years I have seen my share of horrific violence. You are welcome to contact me about teaminig up or anything. My site designed also to help families with special problems is called http://www.dontlabelmykid.com
One thing, and ladies you will know this is truth if you have been around enough- We need to start enforcing the felonies for false reporting. In Florida,if a woman is having an affair, or just wants out of her marriage, it is a well known fact that simply calling 911 on your husband, and saying you are in fear for your safety will earn you freedom from the husband for a month, custody of the kids, and terrible situations for the women who are truly being abused. Just see it too many times.

    • Thanks TJ. That is so horrible that some women would do that and falsify records. So Sad for it puts many abuse victim in danger that they will not be believed. Those who “cry wolf” mess up the system for those who are really being victimized. Thanks for sharing this.

    • Yes, so many of us have not trusted that nudging… only to suffer the consequences. I pray that many more will come to realize the “nudging” of our Holy Spirit who leads and guides and protects. We serve an awesome God, my friend.
