Guard Your Heart And Protect It From Harm

Guard your heart…
and protect it from harm…
for deep wounds and pain…
occur with many’s charm.
For many can pretend…
to be someone they are not…
but the truth will be revealed…
when their “charm” is forgot.
And God wants us whole…
without a broken heart…
to walk in the fullness…
of His plans from our start.
For He has a plan for each…
with our Kingdom purpose detailed…
but when we get broken…
some of our purpose gets derailed.
Then He has to heal us…
to get on the right path again…
so guard your heart…
from the beginning to end.
Trust in His Plan…
and let Him take the lead…
for He will pour out His blessings…
when to Him we obediently heed.

Dear Lord, only You see the wounds deep down to the hearts and souls of Your children. You see the paths of brokenness that each have taken from the hidden wounds deep within. We pray for healing and restoration to each heart. We pray that Your perfect will for each life will come to pass and that no matter what we see in the natural, we will walk in faith with You. Protect us and help us to lay all  of our pain and brokenness at Your feet… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

    • Wow… A heart with a knot. Beautiful symbol. I pray that many more will hang onto their hearts and avoid letting them get broken. Thanks for your encouraging words. God bless you!

  1. Yes we are guided by that old saying…”the heart wants what the heart wants” and often it gets us into trouble. God gave us a brain too and things work best when we use a balance of the two. Often, however, we don’t use the brain because it might tell us the heart is wrong, and we don’t want to hear that. Many times in those situations, we wind up hurt, abused, broken…

Often we need to be smarter about the things we choose. We should train ourselves to consult the Lord before making decisions. We may still get hurt anyway, but I would say it would be much less often than if we don’t engage the Lord and our brain in the process!

    • Yes Steve, many get hurt, abused and broken with the decisions that are made. I can tell you that I wished that I would have consulted the Lord before I made many decisions in my life. But unfortunately, we have to learn that we can’t do it on our own before we finally submit and hold onto Him and let Him lead… like that song says, Jesus Take the Wheel. Blessings to you, Steve!
