Let Us Give Thanks

As Thanksgiving Day winded down for the evening, I relayed the question to my daughters that I had posted on Thanksgiving morning (Thought For Thanksgiving Day: What If…). As I asked them the question, “What if you wake up in the morning, and the only things that you have is what you thanked God for today”, how much would you have?,  I realized that this is a question that we all need to ask ourselves. Their reactions were priceless. They both started thanking God for everything. I reminded them that we have to thank Him for everything that we have and in all that we do. Though our struggles have been many and our journey has been rocky, we all need to thank Him for it is in our thankfulness that we will see our lives transformed and further blessings to be poured into our lives.

Dear Lord, we praise You and thank You for the lives that You have given us. Thanks for never leaving us or forsaking us. That You are with us always in the midst of all of the storms that we encounter, and You are there to help us to overcome every obstacle that we face. We thank You today and every day for all that you have done for us and all that is still to come. We ask You to help us to do all things unto You, that every word from our mouths and every deed will be to honor You, and that we will walk in boldness onto the path that You have called us to, no matter how difficult that path may be… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving, And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His name.” Psalm 100:4

  1. Sounds like you and your family really had a good time on Thanksgiving! That’s great…we did too! Yes, we do have so much to be thankful for, I know many people say that, but it is so true when one thinks about it. And every day should be a “Thanksgiving” to the Lord who blesses us with so much!
