Jesus Calling Devotional Reading for January 9th

As I read the Jesus Calling Devotional reading for today, it resonated deep within my spirit as I walk this journey in my life. As we move towards the goals and visions that the Lord has placed within us, sometimes we just need to remember that His timing is not our timing and He never promised that it would be easy. We will face many obstacles, but we will overcome as we walk with Him to achieve the plans that He has set before us. He will lead us to fulfill His Kingdom purpose for our lives on this earth that He has ordained for us before we were born as we follow Him step by step, bread crumb by bread crumb into our future.  We just have to trust Him in all things and wait on Him for His perfect timing.

“I AM WITH YOU AND FOR YOU. When you decide on a course of action that is in line with My will, nothing in heaven or on earth can stop you. You may encounter many obstacles as you move toward your goal, but don’t be discouraged– never give up! With My help, you can overcome any obstacle. Do not expect an easy path as you journey hand in Hand with Me, but do remember that I, your very-present Helper, am omnipotent.

Much, much stress results from your wanting to make things happen before their times have come. One of the main ways that I assert my sovereignty is in the timing of events. If you want to stay close to Me and do things My way,  ask me to show you the path moment by moment. Instead of dashing headlong toward your goal, let Me set the pace. Slow down and enjoy the journey in My Presence.”

  1. This is my 3rd year to read thru the bible with this devotional as a morning starting point…I’m hoping this is the year I’ll start to commit the scriptures to memory! 🙂
