Broken and Crushed?– Psalm 34:18

Abuse is rampant and  many more victims are being wounded as it becomes even more acceptable. We see it in movies and watch it daily on television where many become desensitized to the effects of this negativity. But hearts are being broken and souls are being crushed because too many do not understand the destructive force behind the negative words spoken and deeds done.

Many are abused and broken…
with no one to whom they can trust.
For attack after attack…
has lead to their spirits being crushed.
For repeated negative words and deeds…
with nothing good to build them up…
has lead many to be brokenhearted…
with plans for their future disrupt.
For positive reinforcement is needed…
to help us all to progress…
but with only discouragement…
we tend to negatively regress.
But God sees and hears all…
for nothing can be hidden.
He knows the wounds inflicted…
so negativity should be forbidden.
For any negative word or deed…
is like a spiritual attack received…
with poison arrows embedded deep…
and the lies of the enemy believed.
So let us build up each other…
and never hurt by tearing down.
For it is when we walk as Christ…
that healing and restoration can be found.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted;
He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:18

“He heals the brokenhearted
and bandages their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

Dear Lord, only You see the multitude who are brokenhearted and crushed in spirit. You see the wounds that are hidden deep and negatively effecting their lives. And You see how “abuse” is being glamorized in movies and television with desensitization of it’s horrendous effects. Deliver all of us from the abuses and negativity that continuously inflicts these wounds. Open eyes to see the effects and transform hearts to treat others as You do. Bring healing and restoration to every dimension of these victims lives and lead them in to their future to overcome their pasts… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

  1. Amen. We may never see the deep effects of simple acts of kindness, for it is an invisible battle… From the depths of despair, I never acknowledged that my spirit was broken-I just went numb.

    • I totally understand that. So many of us have seen more of the unkindness than the kindness and it is quite sad. We all have to keep speaking out to bring more attention the devastating effects of abuse.
