God speaks in so many ways! We just have to realize that so much of what we think is coincidental really is not. He speaks in a “small still voice”, in an audible voice, through the Word, through pastors, through other people, through numbers, through music, and even through “a donkey” if He wants. He will speak when and where and how He wants. And He will give us confirmation if we ask for it… and that is exactly what I received today.
I have been praying if and when I am supposed to start speaking in public about abuse, the wounds of abuse with the many “walking wounded”, and God’s grace and mercy that is available to all of us. You see, what God did for me and my children is simply miraculous. I have written about it but speaking is different. Invitations have previously come but graciously declined as I remained “secret”. But is my time of being “secret” coming to an end. I have been asking God to lead me and open the doors when He was ready with the boldness to speak. Then as I was driving to work today, I heard this first song… Walk in Faith. I felt God telling me to trust Him and not fear for “this broken road” prepared His will for me. Then the next song brought tears to my eyes…. My Story. And as I heard these words, I knew that it is time to start speaking for it is not about me, it’s all about Him… “Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him”. For what He did for me, He can and will do for many more.

The first time you stand before an audience can be quite scary but when you step down afterwards, you’ll never shut up. Been there-done that. Also, the shame that I carried for years was GONE! Go for it woman. Lots of people need to hear your testimony.
Sue, thank you so much for your encouragement. You are an inspiration to me. I actually thought that no one would ever want to read my story but I knew that I had to walk in obedience. I have always been a shy, “back of the room” person, never wanting to be out in front where people would see me. But then, that is another symptom of wounds inflicted upon us. Having our testimony in a book is great but what was it the Lord said about “hearing?” You’ll be great. It’s amazing what healing comes from doing this. Let us know when, where, and what time is your first speaking engagement and maybe we can “tune in.” If He sends you to Atlanta you can stay with me. 🙂
