Depression or Oppression

This is for the many who are struggling with being depressed or oppressed for whatever reason. Dealing with this consuming darkness is not easy… and is not easily understood by some who have never experienced it. But we can’t give up Hope! There is a Light at the end of the tunnel.

Depression or oppression…
is what many experience today…
as the world comes against us…
and we respond a certain way.
For depression is a condition…
where the darkness hides the light.
And oppression’s like overburdened…
where you feel you’ve lost the fight.
So which one is it…
that you are feeling this week?
Which has gotten you down…
and making you so broken and weak?
For there are many times…
we have to fight these things…
whether with trauma or drama…
and the darkness that it brings.
Or whether losing a battle…
that you fought so hard to win…
or just empty nest syndrome…
which is both a beginning and an end.
For change is not easy…
and the world is not fair…
but there’s One who can help…
keep you from the pits of despair.
So remember who you are…
and never give up this fight…
for you are a child of God…
so keep your eyes on the Light.
The darkness will not prevail…
for the enemy has already loss…
so let’s focus on our Savior…
who overcame all by the Cross.

    • Amen!! I too understand this issue. In fact, I usually write about what I am feeling. We just have to remember that no matter what we are going through, we can call on God and claim His Word upon our lives. His anointed Word will break through the darkness! God bless you, my brother!

  1. That darkness is a hard thing to get through….knowing that God is there and He loves us is a great comfort. The enemy loves when darkness comes…the battle is real. Jason Gray is an awesome singer/songwriter.

    • I agree… the battle is real. This darkness is not easy to get through. I have struggled with it to… but then I have to remember that God’s Word will pierce the darkness and I have to renew my mind to things of God. It is a daily process to overcome. And I agree with you about Jason Gray. God bless you, my sister!
