Patience– Or Lack Thereof

Patience is a virtue…
and lack thereof is not.
But when we’re in a hurry…
patience is often forgot.
Like when we are rushing…
to get to an appointment as planned…
then fuss about slow drivers…
that we impatiently have to withstand.
Or when we are in a line…
to check out at a store…
but everyone moves so slow…
when you want to bolt out the door.
Now patience is a blessing…
and one of the fruits we should show…
but do we exhibit this…
when our horns we just want to blow.
But never pray for patience…
for God may just answer your prayer…
and put you in circumstances…
which you’ll wish you were never there.
For the busyness of the world…
and the very lives we live…
makes us want to rush, rush, rush…
and for this impatience we ask God to forgive.
