The Wails of Brokenness

The wails of brokenness…
is an indescribable cry…
when a loss is so great…
with no answer to the question “why”.
It comes with a feeling…
of total devastation and more…
where the pain is insurmountable…
and life will never be as before.
It is a point of brokenness…
where the cries come from deep within…
where you can’t catch your breath..
and the tears seem to never end.
And it’s almost a scream…
escaping from our heart and soul…
from these depths of brokenness…
where words cannot even be told.
Now these wails of brokenness…
many just don’t understand…
unless they have felt such a loss…
and in total brokenness they did once stand.
For it really is indescribable…
and never wished on another to feel…
like we’ve exploded in millions of pieces…
with no chance that we will ever heal.
Now I can tell you this…
because I have felt this brokenness wail…
as my soul and spirit cried out…
and my heart felt that it would fail.
And the exact day I felt it…
was over a decade ago today…
as I remember the pain…
and the loss experienced that day.
But as I look back now…
I can tell you that healing will come…
as we hold onto the Lord in brokenness…
and He will help us to overcome.
For He hears our cries and wails…
and sees every wound deep within…
and He will heal the brokenhearted…
and our suffering will come to an end.

Dear Lord, only You see the wounds to the depths of our spirits and souls and the brokenness within each of us. You hear our cries and the heart-felt wails of brokenness. You know the losses that we have suffered and the abuses we have endured. We pray for total healing and restoration. We pray that no one will ever again experience the deep seeded pain with these wails from the depths of brokenness. Help us to overcome our pasts and help us to see Your purpose in all that we go through. Heal our wounds and pour out Your blessings upon us… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
