There are days that we just need to rest in the Lord’s presence. He made only 24 hours in a day, not for His benefit, but for ours. And, He rested on the 7th day and commanded us to do so too. Now, the seventh day of rest has multiple meanings… but the first is to Rest! There are days that rest and relaxation are the priority. Now, there are many that did not have off of work today for Labor Day, but let us all try to spend some time with Him for we do get weary and heavy-burdened at times.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11: 28-30
“But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
