Facing Goliath…

Image result for in the midst of pain, give it to God

Facing Goliath…

is what we all have to do…

with bitterness and resentment…

mixed with some fear and anger too.

For the wounds of our pasts…

become hidden so deep within…

but it’s when Goliath comes again…

that more healing can actually begin.

For we have to face the giants…

that have somehow hindered our way…

and that is what we all have to do…

as we struggle with events that come some day.

For many raise their children alone…

as they escaped abuses they left behind…

but when a new generation begins…

only God knows the future they will find.

For as new grandparents…

they all will came together to celebrate…

but the struggles deep within  those wounded…

are not something that we can reiterate.

For children love both parents…

even when divorce drives a wedge between…

and they’ve experienced the abuses…

but also God’s grace and mercy to redeem.

So let’s pray for our children and grandchildren…

and for the “warrior” to rise up within…

like David fighting Goliath…

and for the cycle of abuse to finally end.

For only God can bring healing…

to every deep, hidden, wounded place…

but sometimes it takes exposure…

like the Goliath in our lives we have to face.

Dear Lord, only You see the wounds hidden deep within the recesses of our hearts. Only You know the depths of our wounds and the healing that remains to be done. We ask for total healing and restoration as You expose the residual effects of abuse and adultery. We humbly give you all anger, fear, resentment, bitterness, and unforgiveness as we chose to forgive and move forward in faith with you.  Bring down the Goliath’s in our lives that have hindered us and help us to move forward, strengthened and empowered by You to accomplish what You have called us to do… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
