When an Amber Alert…
comes to a resolve…
there may still be mysteries…
that need to be solved.
For when a 15 year old girl…
is found with a 50 year old man…
there are so many questions…
and things we don’t understand.
But there’s an abuse of power…
when this age difference exists…
especially for a teacher and student…
whether or not she initially resists.
For a 15 year old teenage girl…
is not of the age of consent…
especially with 35 years age difference…
and what this relationship represents.
For there is a level of morality…
that all teachers should maintain…
not seeking relationships with students…
which all of society would disdain.
And to take a child from her family…
is kidnapping to be sure…
plus transporting across state lines…
and with sexual abuse is even more.
But why would this happen…
and what kind of control did he gain…
before this kidnapping even happened…
and an Amber Alert was obtained.
Now so many questions and concerns…
need to be addressed to help other teens…
to recognize lies and manipulations…
and grooming as a sexual predator’s means.
For many of these victims are tricked…
and then sold into sex trafficking rings…
and suffer through horrid abuses…
with all the pain this exploitation brings.
So be aware of Amber Alerts…
that go out to help children kidnapped…
for it’s through the public’s help…
that children can be rescued from this mishap.
And let’s pray for all the children…
who’ve been taken from their loved ones…
that they will all be rescued and returned…
with healing and restoration begun.

GREAT POST! It is so sickening to see, almost daily, someone being arrested or sought for seeking to have sex with a child. I’m glad for the arrests, but the wake of destruction left for the child (or children) is devastating.

There are many now opposing statutory rape laws. Few seem to understand that below a certain age judgment has not developed sufficiently to appreciate all the ramifications associated with sex. Not every pair are Romeo and Juliet. Far too often, one is a predator.
You are so right. I am unfamiliar with the statutory rape laws but I know that many are mandated reporters… and teachers are always one. They should never run off with a student. Predators hide behind their professions… and that includes teachers. I just wrote another posting about this for later this week. People need to realize that these lines can not be crossed.
