A Short Fuse Of Anger…

A short fuse of anger…
is where “fires” ignite…
with bitterness and rage…
spewing through the night.
For domestic violence…
occurs when that fuse is lit…
and many victims suffer…
whether by words or physically hit.
And we try to keep peace…
and repeatedly extinguish fires…
constantly saying “I’m sorry”…
and giving in to abusers desires.
For there is no rational thinking…
when abusers are in their rage…
so we try to appease them…
to enter into a new stage.
For there’s a honeymoon phase…
as the cycle of abuse displays…
and all victims hope and pray…
that the “honeymoon” phase stays.
For that is when abusers are nice…
and their anger and wrath is not seen…
for they are nicer and kinder then…
and not nearly as nasty and mean.
So Lord, we pray for all victims…
that they’ll be free from this strife…
with peace that surpasses all understanding…
and consumes every aspect of their life.
That they will feel loved…
and treated with kindness and respect…
for this is what Christ desires…
and what we should all expect.

“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Galatians 5:19-23

  1. One can only extinguish fires for so long…as the fuses start to ignite with less time between blasts. I join you in prayer for everyone who spends great amounts of time and energy, putting out the fires!
