Domestic Violence Awareness: Child Abuse

Child abuse…
so difficult to understand…
how someone as innocent as a child…
can be hurt at the hands of man.
For children as young as infants…
are injured by abuse or neglect…
some with tragic deaths…
with levels of abuse few expect.
But there are many abuses…
in the category of child abuse…
from verbal, physical, and sexual…
all forms a child can be misused.
For some children are yelled at…
for little or no reason…
and some with belittling words…
though some consider it just teasin’.
But words cut like a knife…
and inflict more damage than people know…
for wounds occur to our soul and spirit…
where the damage inflicted don’t show.
And some children are neglected…
with little or no food to eat…
and some are physically attacked…
where they are slapped or violently beat.
Then some are molested or trafficked…
and treated like little sex toys…
by the people who should protect them…
but abuse these little girls and boys.
For abuse of children is rampant…
as the standards of many have seemed to fall…
but remember God sets the true standards…
with the way He wants us to treat all.
With love, kindness, and compassion to all…
like the way we would want to be treated…
not with anger, bitterness, or perversion…
or in anyway verbally, physically, or sexually mistreated.

Dear Lord, only You see the multitude of children who are abused, neglected,  or mistreated in various ways and the damage done to their hearts and souls. We pray that all child abuse will be exposed and that these children will be rescued from all abusive environments.  Turn the hearts of the parents and these children back to You. Deliver them from the anger, bitterness, and perversions that this world deems acceptable. Bring healing and restoration to all victims and help all to overcome their past and walk in to the fullness of what you have called each to do for you… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
