Abuse and neglect…
occur to many of all ages…
from the youth to elderly…
in all of life’s stages.
And no words can describe…
the heartbreak that many feel…
when we see the bruised and broken…
realizing the problem is very real.

For many elderly are neglected…
beaten and even subjected to rape…
even by those who should protect them…
making them feel there’s no escape.
From the privacy of their homes…
to the various places they get care…
many abuses are occurring to the elderly…
and it’s this concern we need to share.

Dear Lord, only You see the magnitude of this problem of abuse and neglect of the elderly. Only You see the wounds that have been inflicted upon them even from the ones who should be loving and caring for them. Lord, protect the elderly, the weak, and the frail from harm. Bring healing and restoration to their lives and turn the hearts of many back to their fathers and to You. We pray for salvation to all and that they will walk in righteous all the remaining days of their lives… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

  2. This is a beautiful post that spreads awareness over the social issue of elder abuse in a creative manner. Seeing the image of the abused elderly man is confronting but it opens our eyes to the issue at hand. It is so heartbreaking to see that people would put this upon the elderly who are frail and vulnerable in their old age. The idea behind your blog with “Secret Angel” is a lovely idea with shedding light on the issue and being the angel and light that spreads the message. I feel like elder abuse is often under-reported which is why it is important to educate others about it, and as you mentioned, it is a concern we need to share.
