Sexual exploitation by helping professionals…
is our “Awareness” topic for today.
And it happens more often than we think…
though helping professionals should never act this way.
It occurs in hospitals and clinics…
as well as offices and more…
including churches and church retreats…
and always behind closed doors.
For we have all heard the stories…
of children molested by clergy…
and stories of doctors and counselors…
with testimonies bringing controversy.
For how can a professional who helps…
cause such harm to some innocent people…
because perverse behaviors are in many…
hidden under a lab coat, badge, or even a steeple.
And these professionals are slick…
with some difficult to get caught…
making their victims think they are crazy…
like did it even happen or not.
For many can be sedated or drugged…
when some professionals make their move…
then it’s all hazy to the victim…
and also may be difficult to prove.
But God sees all things…
and knows what lies in every heart…
so seeking Him for guidance…
is always a good place to start.

Dear Lord, only You know the multitude of victims of this type of sexual assault. Only You know the number who were sedated and did not even realize that something happened. Only You know the number of victims of all ages who are manipulated and assaulted by those who should be helping them. You know who has been sexually and spiritually abused by clergy. Expose all those who hide behind their professional masks who sexually assault others. Deliver all victims from this sexual abuse and exploitation and bring healing and restoration to all victims… in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
