Sexual Assault Awareness

Sexual assault awareness…
is something we all need to know…
as it affects more than we realize…
but for most the wounds don’t show.
For the wounds of sexual assault…
are hidden very deep within…
and many don’t know when it’ll stop…
or some even when it did begin.
For many are abused sexually…
and that includes all the ages…
for even children are assaulted…
with deep wounds at various stages.
And these children are molested…
by the very ones who are over their care…
for they may be trusted and loved…
but the truth children are afraid to share.
So they grow up with brokenness…
as they carry this burden and shame…
for these molesters are horrific…
and cast upon victims their lies and blame.
And our young teens of today…
are criticized if they don’t date…
especially if they choose abstinence…
and for a spouse they want to wait.
And even if they go out in groups…
the danger still lurks out there…
for many are drugged and raped…
by evil people who just don’t care.
For they want what they want…
even though a person says “NO”…
so sexual awareness is necessary…
so the dangers lurking we will know.
But even some spouses are assaulted…
by the ones they love and trust…
for their pleas of “NO” are disregarded…
as the assailant feels their desire’s a must.
So remember that “NO” MEANS “NO”…
not “possibly” or “if you insist”…
because sexual assault is a crime…
and in fear many victims don’t resist.
But “Love” is not “sex”…
and no one should be assaulted this way…
so let us pray for God’s protection…
and for healing and restoration today.
For many carry the wounds…
of sexual assaults that have been done…
so please join me in prayer for all…
and that God’s redemption has begun.
