and all with looks of defeat.
For they were obviously downcast…
with sadness in all their eyes…

is what so many of us have lived…
staying with someone who abuses us…
while so much of ourselves we give.
But so little is reciprocated…
and never an apology is given…

For abuse may start with words…
but to physical it may advance…

is what most abusers do…
to get their own way…
and cause harm to victims too.
For when victims are manipulated…
they’re controlled in many ways…

Domestic violence victims…
are seen in hospitals every day…
with various degrees of injuries…
and conflicting stories that victims say.
For knife wounds come in ER’s…
with stories like they fell on a knife…
but the trajectory doesn’t fit…

Terrified Of Your Spouse?

Terrified of your spouse?
is not a good place to be…
when you live under fear…
for abuse is your reality.
And whether verbal or emotional…
or financial abuses you receive…

Would You Leave?

Would you leave…
if abuse you face every day…
whether emotional or physical…
or sexual in any way.

if anger levels continue to rise…

is not always easy to do…
especially with domestic violence…
and all the abuse we’ve been through.
But God wants us to forgive…
and rise above all our pain…

can be so easily seen…
some always emotional and crying…
or some obviously abusive and mean.
For many are filled with anger…
from the abuses they’ve been through…
