is an increasing problem in this country today…
But experiencing homelessness…
is being encouraged in some schools this way.
Where some students sleep on a football field…
in boxes like some homeless sleep each day…
to let them experience for one night…
how the homeless struggle every single day.

or “talk Christianity” like many say.

it’s more about what we do…

Many are Homeless

Many are homeless…
of no fault of their own.
Victims of abuses…
whether at work or at home.
And the financial effect…
on their lives takes its toll.
For they struggle to survive…
and these abuses must be told.
Many victims flee their homes…
with the clothes on their back…
carrying children with them…

Domestic violence, drug abuse, alcohol abuse… all of these abuses lead to homelessness as many are forced out of their homes whether for safety reasons or financial reasons.

homeless woman and childI can tell you that this post had started out as a “Daily Prompt” then I just decided to use it as a message. It was the first “fictitious” story that I wrote, since I have never been to LA but decided to keep it anyway. Only parts of this is true for me. Unfortunately, I know that most of it is true for many women…. You see, I met some of these woman as I sought refuge in a “Women’s Shelter” for protection from my abuser. These women do leave with only the shirts on their back. They leave everything behind to protect themselves and their children.
