DV Awareness Day#25: Abuses and Addictions– As The Wheels Go Round and Round

Image result for wheels of abuse and addiction

The old song, “The Wheels on the Bus” has been on my mind today and I just wanted to share some of the thoughts that came with that song.

Abuses and addictions…
have been my thoughts for the day…
and I want to share this message…
as this song in my head continues to play.
For this children’s song repeats…
as the lyrics in my head continually sound…
and I thought of many broken lives…
like “The wheels on the bus go round and round.”
For the cycle of abuse continues…
just like playing a repetitive song.
But the problem with this cycle…
is that it is devastatingly wrong.
And many face addictions…
from which they rise and fall again…
as they go round and round…
trying to bring their addiction to an end. Continue reading

Drug Abuse: Abuse and It’s Wounds Lead Many Down Wrong Paths

As we begin another week of October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I want to talk about the wounds that cause so many of us to make wrong decisions in our lives. Many innocent victims seek love and find themselves in relationships with someone who abuses drugs… then get forced into taking the drugs also to “please” their significant other. And many youth today are making wrong choices to fit in or be included in groups because of rejection and abuse with bullying and peer pressure… including taking drugs. Unfortunately, many of these that agree to “try it one time” may be the last time because of the catastrophic effects of “MoJo”  or their “one time” may lead to a life-long addiction because of the addictive effects of some drugs like meth. Doing some of these drugs is like playing “Russian Roulette” with lives… with catastrophic effects and more wounds to its victims. Continue reading

Prostitution… Not a Choice Willfully Made

As I watched the attached video, Fancy, my heart melted for the many children who are forced into prostitution by the ones who should be protecting and nurturing them. We need to open our eyes and realize that the majority of these who are trapped in this lifestyle are not there by choice. Please join me in prayer for every one trapped in prostitution.

Prostitution…
not a choice willfully made.
Especially involving children…
many too young to choose a “trade”.
For most are victims…
of the woundedness of their pasts…
whether poverty or addictions…
or domestic violence and it’s wrath.
And sadly some parents…
force their own child to do “tricks”…
beginning a life of prostitution…
for their own parent’s addictive fix.
And child sex slavery…
is becoming more rampant today…
with increasing porn and prostitution…
leaving many children trapped this way. Continue reading
