From college admissions scandals…
where wealthy have been committing fraud…
to political deception and corruption…

Swindlers…
is the word that came to me…
when I thought of a group…
and how their wealth came to be.
For they scam together…
with lies most don’t suspect…
when some seek advice or expertise…

Financial Abuse happens…
in so many homes today…
where one controls all money…
negating what the other will say.
And even when one spouse works…
the wages have to be given over…

Where Are You Tethered?

Where are you tethered?
Is a question we all need to ask.
For many are tethered to abusers…
who deceive with narcissistic masks.
And many are tethered to jobs…
working hard for substandard pay…
for they don’t have resources to move…
and struggle to live payday to payday.
Or many are tethered to bills…
after borrowing money they need to pay back…
or some just live beyond their means…

but abusers withholding funds…
is what many consider the norm.
But really financial abuse…
covers several different ways…
from using all a victim’s money…

Abused… Remember, You Are Not Crazy

with some memories a little hazy?
Well rest assured…
remember, you are not crazy.
For abusers twist truth…
and pound you with repeated lies…
as a way to control and manipulate…
while the real truth is disguised.

And after years go by…
and the web of lies has grown…
sometimes it takes others to decipher…
for the real truth to be known.
For others see what’s happening…
even though victims can’t see clear…
and just like a friend told me yesterday…
“I could have told you but you would not hear.”

is how many of us feel.
When marriages fall apart…
and broken hearts just won’t heal.
