Prostitution…
not a “profession” desired by most…
for it is usually out of desperation…
and not a career many would boast.
For many have been victims…
of horrific violence in their life…
with incest and child molestation…

DV Awareness Day#25: Abuses and Addictions– As The Wheels Go Round and Round

The old song, “The Wheels on the Bus” has been on my mind today and I just wanted to share some of the thoughts that came with that song.

Abuses and addictions…
have been my thoughts for the day…
and I want to share this message…
as this song in my head continues to play.
For this children’s song repeats…
as the lyrics in my head continually sound…
and I thought of many broken lives…
like “The wheels on the bus go round and round.”
For the cycle of abuse continues…
just like playing a repetitive song.
But the problem with this cycle…
is that it is devastatingly wrong.
And many face addictions…
from which they rise and fall again…
as they go round and round…
trying to bring their addiction to an end.

The Brokenness of Betrayal

The brokenness of betrayal…
with wounds that are deep.
Infidelity, pornography…
it’s their wounds that I speak.
So much is ignored,
and felt to be no big deal.
Till you are the victim…
and struggling to heal.

Something deep inside me…
has risen up today.
I pray that hearts will receive…
the message that I will say.
Here is a question for each…
Do you truly love your child?
Do you cherish and protect them…
keeping them away from all vile?
