Alcohol Abuse…

Alcohol abuse…
is my topic for today…
after repeated requests to vote…
to make alcohol sales okay.
But why would I want to approve…
a cause of great turmoil in my life…
having fled from drunken rampages…
before I was no longer his wife.
For I have seen the damage…
that alcohol abuse can do…
and I never wish for any other…
to suffer the abuses I’ve been through.
For excessive alcohol consumption…
can form a “Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde”…
so I would prefer no alcohol…
in the area where I now abide.
And I have also seen the damage…
that drunken driving can do…
with wrecks and carelessness…
along with dangerous stunts too.
But too many drink today…
with drunkenness in their mind…
as a means to have fun…
but “fun” is not what many find.
For more and more traumas occur…
with blood alcohol levels elevated…
so if anyone drinks, don’t drive…
and don’t get violent or even aggravated.
For domestic violence and wrecks…
are occurring more and more each day…
and alcohol abuse is on the rise…
and contributing to these problems everyday.
So let’s pray to God…
to change the hearts of man…
for the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy…
and too many still do not understand.
