Angels Are Amongst Us

This was a poem that I originally wrote when this blog was first started. I wanted to rewrite it today to thank some of the “angels” that have been sent to help me through the last few years. Thanks to each of you who have been my “angels’ on assignment. Your kindness and support have encouraged me when I was down and your guidance has helped through various obstacles that I have encountered. May God bless you all!

Angels are amongst us
surrounding us everywhere
silently moving and dwelling
seldom revealing that they’re there.
They’re angels on assignment
sent by God everyday
to guide and protect
and help us along the way.
These angels are amongst us
and hidden in many forms
maybe  looking like  a homeless man
or others out of the norm.
They are angels on assignment…
maybe here to give a test…
will you treat them as God expects
always giving them your best?
Will you treat them worthless…
like many abused have already felt…
or will you treat them with kindness…
as their stories cause your heart to melt?
Will you take their advice…
when God sends them to help you.
Or will you just worship the Lord…
for sometimes that’s all we’re meant to do.
So thank You Lord for our angels…
whether they’re spiritual or human…
for they are sent by You each day
to obediently lead us by the hand.

Many people do not believe in angels. However, when Elisha and his servant were facing a huge army, Elisha prayed for the eyes of his servant to be opened and immediately he could see a mountain full of fiery horses and chariots to protect them.

“So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.“ 2 Kings 6:16-17

 

Prayer:  Dear Lord, I pray that the eyes of Your children will be opened to see what has been hidden from them and that hearts will be opened to receive the Love that You have for them with the protection and blessings that can only come from You. Thank You, Lord, for the angels that have been assigned by You to help us though each day whether in human form or spiritual. Help us to realize that You can send aid to us in all different forms and help us to be receptive to the lead of Your Spirit for us to walk in obedience when You send us to help others as well… in Jesus’ Name.  Amen
