Poem: No Longer Look to the Past– Look to the Future and Follow the Light!

Looking in the past,
like a rear view mirror.
Surrounded by darkness,
with my wounded exterior.
Hollowed by words,
to my deepest interior.
A mire shell of myself,
with feelings so inferior.

But the daylight has come,
to brighten my day.
To give me a hope,
for my future I say.
No longer a victim!
The abuse stops today!
For I’ve seen the Light,
and He guides my way.

So now looking forward,
towards the future to come.
A new creation in God,
as I accepted His son.
Victory is evident,
for the battle is won.
For I am a child of God,
and heir to His Kingdom.

So what do I expect,
as I look to the Light.
I expect the unexpected!
Miraculous is His Might
For now I walk by faith,
and not by sight.
Being led by His Spirit,
as my Guiding Light.

Lord, I pray for healing and deliverance of all the victims of the abuses of this world, that their hearts will open to receive You and the message that Your Son has given us… to follow Him as He shows us how to overcome this world… In Jesus’ name… Amen

    • Thank you so much for your encouraging words. I pray for the Lord to give me the words to say and he gives me songs in my heart. His desire is for all broken to hang onto Him as He will bring healing and restoration with a renewed hope for their futures. The broken don’t feel that anyone can love them…not even God so I write and pray that their hearts will turn to Him and open to receive Him… It’s all about Him!!!

  1. Amen. God does heal with our participation. We must open ourselves and be willing to do the work needed knowing God is with us every step of the way. God takes horrific turn of events, and uses them to produce something good.
    Genesis 50:20
    New International Version (NIV)
20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
